Online Learning

What is On-Line Learning?

VCHE is proud to announce its On-Line Flexible Learning program.

To sample the On-Line Program, contact the College. A confirming email with detailed instructions will be sent within 24 hours, giving you access to a sample On-Line Program.

On-Line Learning allows students to access all teaching material and participate in on-line lectures from home. All theory classes offered by the College are available on-line.
Due to the hands on nature of massage and related courses, all practical classes will need to be done in person. Students are required to travel to the College one day per week in semester one, becoming two days per week later in the course.

The obvious benefits to On Line Learning – both to you and your parents – are many. They include:

  • Country students can stay at home, reducing the financial burden of setting up and maintaining accommodation in Melbourne. Hence if you are not within daily commuting distance of the College, you will be away from home just for a maximum of one night per week;
  • Less travel time for students who would otherwise commute from home. For example the College currently has students who commute daily from Bendigo, Ballarat, Korumburra, Leongatha and Inverloch. If they availed themselves of On-Line Learning their daily commute would be reduced to one or two days per week only;
  • You can keep up with your part-time job, sporting and other commitments, avoiding disruption and reducing the transition impact between secondary and tertiary education; and
  • You will access cutting edge technology, but with full academic and technological support from the College.

Unlike other “on-line” courses, where students submit work but have minimal feedback, the On-Line Learning offered by VCHE is fully supported. You will be required to log-on to on-line lectures and tutorials, and to participate fully (all on-line classes will have a maximum of 10 students).

You will also need a computer that enables Java software (which can be downloaded from the On-Line Learning site), and a high speed internet connection (ADSL preferred).

Online students are required to attend the college for practical subjects. For Certificate IV Massage Therapy students this is one day per week, for Diploma and Advanced Diploma students two days per week attendance is required.

Further information on on-line learning can be found at www.tafevc.com.au.

The College is proud in being an Education Industry Leader in On-Line Learning, and we hope that you will benefit from this new method of presentation.
